Online Auction Services
Now that auctions can’t be conducted on site or in auction rooms, we look at the some of the technologies that enable you to bid remotely.
Up until now, most online auction platforms included live streaming video services so that remote bidders would feel more connected and get a better understanding of the emotion and flow of the auction. Obviously that now has to change, and these services will need to quickly change their model and adapt to online only scenarios. The most obvious development is that the live stream is only of the auctioneer – it will be interesting to see if all bidders will be able to see each other party house video style, or whether bidders will remain away from their camera and enter bids effectively silently – as what happens now.
