As the business owner or the leader, everything starts with you. If you want to build trust within your company, you have to start trusting your team. Think about it for a second. Why did you hire them in the first place? It’s because you think that they will help you move your company forward and achieve success. Trust them to do a great job. Let their genius work. Avoid taking over every project. Oversee yet don’t overdo it. Instead, offer suggestions and guidelines and let them do their thing. Yes, they will make mistakes but who doesn’t? Hire Nice People
Avoid hiring jerks. They might be the best at what they do but their skills can only take you so far. Skills can be taught and learned but personality and attitude are difficult to change. Employees with negative attitudes and personalities will cause stress and conflict within your team. This type of negativity is difficult to detect until it has already done its damage. In a stressful environment, cultivating a culture of trust is next to impossible. Genuinely nice people get along with everybody which will slowly but surely sow the seeds of trust.
